Have you ever read a book, a bumper sticker, heard a quote in a movie that has just stuck in your memory?
Mine would have to be: "Life is a daring adventure or nothing." - Helen Keller "After all tomorrow is another day." -Gone with the Wind "Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me thine ears. I come to bury Caesar not to praise him." -Julius Caesar
Do you have any favorite quotations?

I have so many! I write them down in notebooks - so many covers are filled with random quotes.
"The hero is the person who stands when the battle just won't quit."
"Laughter is the closest distance between two people." - Victor Borge

I have some...but seemingly can't remember most of them "I wonder if dogs think poodles are members of a wierd religous cult..."-Rita Rudner Yeah, not really inspirational, but funny all the same.

My favourite is from a friend of mine: It's stupid to live for the moment because then I guess you're continuously waiting for something, and how stupid is it to spend your life waiting? Just life the moment and laugh about it later.... even if you can't remember it.
ohh ohh and: A life without love is no life at all....

i love finding quotes, especially since my family and I are hitting a couple rough patches in life. Here are a couple that I found and thought were really good: "Don't take life for granted, tomorrow isn't promised to any one of us." -Kirby Puckett "Sometimes things fall apart so others can come together" -Unknown and then there's a really long one that's basically a story, but it's wicked good. i'll put it in a spoiler thing to save space: A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200 he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"
Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this."
He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air. "Well," he replied, "What if I do this?"
And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?"
Still the hands went into the air. "My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who do love you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by who we are. You are special, don't ever forget it."
Remember to count your blessings, not your problems. If God brings you to it, he will bring you through it. Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow, what a ride!" and this one's not inspirational, i just think it's funny and i've always loved it: "If I can't trust you, how can I trust that your statement that I can trust you is true?" -Dr Gregory House [from the show House]

There's of course the one that goes:
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is to love and be loved return"
"To let true love unspoken is the quickest route to a heavy heart." :: Sky High
"True love is a story only time can tell." :: Steven Curtis Chapman - Love and Learn
"If you don't have anything good to say, then don't say anything."
"True love is a love that keeps on loving even after knowing the imperfections of a person... It doesn't mean you'll ignore them, simply that you accept them."
I'll update with more soon... hehe

My altime is favorite is this one, "Fears come from that little dark room where negatives are developed." -Don't Remember. Another favorite of mine is, "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." -Albert Einstein.

i love this thread!! i actually collect quotes. they help when i want to write. set the mood, ya know? anyways....here are a few from my vast collection...
"Flying is simple. You just throw yourself at the ground and miss."
Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
It is generally agreed that "Hello" is an appropriate greeting because if you entered a room and said "Goodbye," it could confuse a lot of people.
A teardrop is insignificant in a pool of water, but it can touch the soul as it runs down someone’s face.
If I could give you one gift, I would give you the ability to see yourself as I see you, so that you could see how truly special you are.
It is better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you are not.
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon.
Friend's know the song of your heart and can sing it back to you when you've forgotten the words.
Friends are essential to survival...they give the enemy somebody else to shoot at...
If at first you don't succeed...sky diving is NOT for you.
some are pretty, some are funny, and some are sad. that's the way i like it.

I seriously love repeating quotes to my friends and receiving a 'Huh?' Here are some of my favorites:
'Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.' - Buddha
'Death most resembles a prophet who is without honor in his own land or a poet who is a stranger among his people.' - Kahlil Gibran
'Dreams have only one owner at a time. That's why dreamers are lonely.' - Erma Bombeck
'Society is like salt water, easy to swim in but hard to swallow.' - Unknown
'Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.' - Martin Luther King, Jr.
'A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of colored ribbon.' - Napoleon Bonaparte

"A hug is a great gift, one size fits all" - I don't know who said that, but it's on a magnet at my granparents house and it's stuck in my head ever since I can remember.
"I'd give up chocolate, but I'm no quiter" - Again, a magnet, this time at my aunt's
"I'm in good shape... round's a good shape!"- haha, yet another frigde magnet.
"It's not the sucess that counts in life, but the struggle" it's something like that anyway, and I can't remember who said that but it's painted on a door in our school's gym.
"Imagination is more important than knowlegde" -Albert Einstein
"I never think of the future. It comes soon enough."- Albert Einstein again.
"Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new."- Albert Einstein.
EDIT: Got another one:
"If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut."- Albert Einstien

I love quotes!
"I was driven insane by brief periods of sanity"-Edgar Allen Poe
long one!
"I put down my book, The Meaning of Zen, and see the cat smiling into her fur as she delicately combs it with her rough pink tongue. Cat, I would lend you this book to study but it appears you have already read it. She looks up and gives me her full gaze. Don't be ridiculous, she purrs, I wrote it." ? Some book of cat quotes.
